National Police arrests 125 people during operations carried out throughout the country

Santo Domingo.– The National Police reported that 125 people were arrested in the last 24 hours during preventive operations and targeted actions carried out in different provinces and municipalities of the country as part of its strategy to combat crime.

The arrests were carried out by agents of the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), the Directorate of Intelligence (DINTEL), the Preventive Police, and other specialized agencies, in coordination with the competent authorities.

According to the preliminary report, those arrested are being investigated for their alleged connection to crimes such as robbery, mugging, illegal possession of firearms, micro-drug trafficking, gender-based and domestic violence, physical assault, fraud, and criminal association, in addition to cases of individuals who were wanted by the justice system.

The institution explained that the interventions included intelligence work, authorized raids, preventive patrols, and targeted operations, actions that also allowed for the seizure of various pieces of evidence related to illicit activities.

The National Police highlighted that these actions are part of the efforts to strengthen citizen security, preserve public order, and ensure compliance with the laws.

Likewise, he reiterated his commitment to continue developing preventive and crime prosecution operations throughout the national territory, and urged the population to collaborate with the authorities through the timely reporting of criminal acts.
