In an opinion piece published this Sunday under the title “The World Cup of our lives”, Sánchez asserted that the current national team represents a modern, confident Spain, capable of competing at the highest level thanks to its collective talent.

“We have left behind the ‘we played like never before and lost like always’ to play and win like never before,” the president stated.

The head of the Spanish Executive, who will attend the final against Argentina in New York, pointed out that the national team reflects a way of understanding sport based on solidarity, technique, precision, and respect for rivals.

Sánchez highlighted that the 26 called-up players are heirs to the philosophy that led Spain to achieve its great international successes 16 years ago, betting on an associative and courageous style of play.

Likewise, he stated that the national team symbolizes a nation that “does not set limits for itself because it believes in itself” and that it reaches the final with the confidence of having played an outstanding tournament.

Spain will play the 2026 World Cup final this Sunday against Argentina with the opportunity to win its second World Cup title, in a duel that will pit two of the most outstanding teams of the championship against each other.
