Santiago. – Agents of the National Police, assigned to the Division of Investigation of Crimes against Property based in the Cienfuegos detachment, arrested in flagrante delicto two men accused of committing multiple violent robberies in different sectors of this city, including Cienfuegos, Joaquin Balaguer Avenue, Los Salados and the municipality of Puñal.
The detainees were identified as Víctor Manuel Torres Vásquez, alias "El Diablillo", 24 years old, and Luis Darián Gómez, alias "Dariel", 21. Both were caught aboard a Tauro motorcycle, model CG200, black and without a license plate, just as they were assaulting a Haitian citizen around 6:00 a.m. on Thursday.
During the assault, the individuals attacked the victim with a machete, causing head injuries, and they stole a black bundle containing his passport, immigration documents, and the sum of RD$2,500.00. The arrested individuals were found with two bladed weapons — a machete and a knife —, in addition to the stolen items.
