Police capture two men with 73 portions of alleged drugs during operation in Sabana Iglesia

Santiago.- Agents of the National Police arrested two men in Sabana Iglesia after seizing dozens of portions of illicit substances during a surprise operation carried out on the Main Street of that municipality. The detainees are Radamez Antonio Durán Flores and Juan Ramón Adame Lagara, who were traveling on a red Super Gato motorcycle when they were intercepted by members of the Division of Investigation of Crimes against Property. Upon being searched, the agents found inside a fanny pack 50 portions of a white powder presumably cocaine and 23 portions of alleged marijuana, in addition to two cell phones and RD$4,015 in cash, elements that, according to the institution, evidence the alleged illicit activity to which they would be dedicated.

The Police assured that they will continue to reinforce operations to combat drug trafficking in rural and urban communities of Santiago. Meanwhile, those arrested and all the evidence were sent to the Public Ministry, where they will face charges for violation of Law 50-88 on drugs and controlled substances.
