Bonao, Monseñor Nouel.– Grassroots organizations, community leaders, representatives from various sectors, and dozens of citizens marched this Friday through several streets of the Bonao municipality to demand that the Government and local authorities provide responses to a series of social and economic issues that, as they denounced, are affecting the population.

During the mobilization, protesters demanded measures to address high electricity bills, the lack of jobs, the deterioration of streets due to the absence of paving, and the rising cost of living, situations that, they stated, directly impact the families of the province.

The tour included stops in front of several public institutions, including the offices of EDENORTE, the Provincial Development Council, the Provincial Governor’s Office, and other government agencies, where participants expressed their demands and requested the intervention of the competent authorities.

The march was led by Father Rogelio Cruz, communicator Juan Macea, and the director of the Juma Bejucal municipal district, Teodoro Santos, who were accompanied by representatives of popular organizations, community leaders, and dozens of citizens who joined the protest.

During the activity, the organizers assured that they will continue to hold peaceful demonstrations until the authorities address the demands related to electrical service, job creation, the improvement of road infrastructure, and the implementation of measures that contribute to reducing the impact of the high cost of living.

The demonstration took place under the surveillance of the authorities, while participants displayed banners and chanted slogans demanding solutions to the main problems that, as they denounced, affect the municipality of Bonao.
