Santo Domingo. – The deputy of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Ramón Bueno, described as "worrying" the wave of violent deaths that is shaking the province of Santiago and asked the central Government to take urgent measures to stop the situation.
The legislator stated that the number of bloody events recorded in the area "merited immediate intervention", due to the frequency with which the cases are repeated.
"Day after day, violent deaths of people shot in the streets are occurring... that has an end, that they are people who are sent to kill," Bueno stated.
Well, he backed the recent accusations of his fellow party member, Soraya Suárez, who attributed the events to the rise of organized crime and contract killings in the province.
In that sense, he urged the authorities to reinforce security efforts in Santiago, which he defined as "the second most important in the country in terms of production," and therefore, he said, should receive special attention from the Government.
These reactions occur after the murder of two brothers on Tuesday night, in the community of San José Afuera, in the municipality of Baitoa, in the province of Santiago.
The victims were identified as Freddy Minier Sandoval, 39 years old, and Robert Alexander Minier Sandoval, 38.
In addition, he was found lifeless in an irrigation canal, gagged and with signs of violence, after having been reported missing, a man identified as Modesto Marmolejos, 54 years old. According to the data, the deceased's wife was given an envelope with money for funeral expenses and a message that said the location of the body.
