Santo Domingo. Maestro Ramón Orlando will commemorate five decades of artistic career with a special show on September 23, 2026, at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, where he will be accompanied by more than 60 national and international artists.
Under the name “50 years of Ramón Orlando and his friends”, the concert will take a journey through the career of the Dominican pianist, composer, arranger, producer, and singer, considered one of the most important figures in merengue.
The event details were presented during a press meeting held at the Catalonia Santo Domingo hotel, where the artist was accompanied by the team responsible for the production.
Executive production will be handled by EW Shows, chaired by Fernando Fernández, while technical production will be the responsibility of Evenworks, led by Mario Fernández. The latter company will be in charge of stage assembly, the sound system, lighting, and all the show’s infrastructure.

A journey through five decades of music
The organizers explained that the concert will be a tribute to the legacy of Ramón Orlando, who since the 1970s has been a protagonist of Dominican music, both leading his own groups and as the author of numerous hits performed by other artists.
The production will include more than six hours of live music, complemented by an audiovisual proposal specially designed for the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, becoming one of the longest-running shows held at that venue.
More than 60 guest artists
The celebration will bring together renowned figures of merengue, bachata, and other genres of Dominican popular music who have shared stages or collaborations with Ramón Orlando.

A celebration announced since the beginning of the year
Ramón Orlando himself had announced this concert during several of his performances in 2026. In March, while promoting a recital at Lungomare, he revealed that he was preparing a show to bring together different generations of fans and review the most important moments of his career.
The activity is among the most anticipated musical productions of the year and has generated great expectation among lovers of merengue and tropical music.
A merengue benchmark
Born on July 29, 1959, in Manoguayabo, Ramón Orlando Valoy is the son of the legendary merengue artist Cuco Valoy and Natividad Ramona García.
From an early age, he showed an aptitude for music. In 1975, he entered the National Conservatory of Music, where he trained as a pianist. His professional career began at the age of 14 as a member of the orchestra La Tribu, a group led by his father, in which he served as a pianist, arranger, composer, and singer.
