San José de Ocoa.– The Regional Directorate of Education 03, Azua, inaugurated this Monday the 2026 Initial Level Summer Camp, an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MINERD) that is being developed under the slogan “We are going on an adventure”, with the purpose of strengthening the learning and integral development of children during the vacation period.
The camp will be held throughout the week at the educational center in the La Ciénaga community, in the San José de Ocoa province, where participants will enjoy recreational, pedagogical, and educational activities designed to promote learning through play, creativity, and healthy coexistence.
During the inaugural ceremony, the authorities highlighted that this initiative reaffirms the Ministry of Education’s commitment to inclusive, equitable, and quality education from early childhood, through the creation of safe spaces that foster the development of competencies in students.

The activity was led by the director of the 03-03 Educational District of San José de Ocoa, Sandra Encarnación, and featured the participation of the regional deputy director of Education, Luis Gregorio Sánchez, representing the regional director, Jorge Antonio de los Santos. The coordination of the camp is in charge of Enerola Ovando, regional coordinator of the Initial Level, together with Greicy González and the team of district technicians for the level.
The opening ceremony was also attended by educational authorities, representatives of public institutions, and prominent figures from the social and political life of the province, who expressed their support for this initiative aimed at strengthening education from the earliest years of life.
