Villa Altagracia.– Amidst the grief that has shocked the entire community, family members of the young basketball player Eddi Manuel de Jesús Robles, 24, were finalizing preparations this Saturday to bid him a final farewell, following his passing on Friday night while participating in a basketball game in that municipality.
From the early hours of the morning, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances began to arrive at the family residence to support their relatives, who were awaiting the release of the body by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), scheduled for 4:00 in the afternoon.
His father, José de Jesús, explained that the funeral will take place in Villa Altagracia, where the young man was born, grew up, and developed his passion for basketball alongside family and friends.
“They told me that they will hand over the body at four in the afternoon… we are going to bury him here in Villa Altagracia,” the father expressed while coordinating the funeral preparations.
The athlete’s unexpected death has caused deep dismay among the municipality’s residents, who throughout the day came to express their condolences and support the family during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
