Santo Domingo Norte.– Residents of the Los Arqueanos sector, in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte, have called on the competent authorities to intervene in the community due to prolonged power outages and the lack of drinking water which, they claim, is affecting their quality of life.
Community members reported that they have been facing constant power outages for long hours and even days, a situation that has also caused difficulties in the water supply, as many homes depend on electric pumps to store the liquid.
As they explained, in addition to the daily inconveniences, the service interruptions have caused economic losses due to the spoilage of food that requires refrigeration. They indicated that meats, dairy products, and other items have been damaged due to the inability to keep them preserved during the prolonged power outages.
“The bills are arriving high, but we are not receiving the service for which we are being charged,” expressed several residents, who consider it unfair to pay high rates when the electricity supply is irregular and deficient.

Those affected pointed out that the lack of electricity also hinders the development of daily activities, the rest of families, and the performance of those who work or study from their homes.

Faced with this situation, they requested that the authorities provide an explanation regarding the causes of the interruptions and present a definitive solution that guarantees a stable and continuous service for the residents of the sector.
Likewise, they called for the adoption of the necessary measures to restore both the electricity supply and access to drinking water, which are essential services for the well-being of the community.
Residents hope that their complaint will be addressed promptly and that the responsible institutions will respond to their claims before the situation continues to worsen.
