Santo Domingo.-The lawyer Miguel Valerio, defender of Santiago Hazim, main defendant in the Senasa Case according to the Public Ministry, affirmed this Sunday that his client and the legal team fully trust the decisions of justice.
Valerio pointed out that, although they await Judge Rigoberto Sena's decision, they will abide by any resolution issued. "We will abide by the decision the judge makes. We abide by all decisions. That is the rule of law. We respect what the judge says," he declared.
The lawyer criticized the variation in coercive measures by the Public Ministry, emphasizing that house arrest was granted to some defendants while another measure was requested for his client. "We agree that everyone should be given house arrest, not just Mr. Hazim, but everyone," he indicated.

Valerio also expressed his concern about his client's exposure to medical risks, noting that the Public Ministry questioned the validity of Hazim's illness without a specialized opinion. "This is more complex than a forensic doctor; this person could become quadriplegic or paraplegic in prison," he warned.
Likewise, the lawyer emphasized that media pressure and protests will not intimidate his defense: "We are very calm. We trust in the rule of law and whatever is decided here, we will simply abide by it or appeal as appropriate."
The Senasa Case, which involves alleged millionaire frauds for more than 15 billion pesos, continues to generate great public and social attention, with extensive media repercussions and citizen mobilizations.
