Santo Domingo. - The Dominican Republic's Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET), reports that since early morning, some cloudiness is occurring in provinces near the southwest and northeast coasts of the country, generating isolated showers and thunderstorms towards: La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Azua and Barahona, due to the dragging of cloudiness by the east wind.
In the afternoon, the effects associated with the afternoon heat will also favor cloud cover increases accompanied by showers, thunderstorms and possible wind gusts, until the early hours of the night over: Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, Santiago, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Independencia, Bahoruco, Azua, San Juan, among other nearby provinces.
For tomorrow, starting in the morning, a frontal system currently located over Cuba will be generating some showers in the northwest and north coast of the country. During the afternoon, the frontal system will continue to approach our area, causing cloudiness accompanied by heavy downpours, electrical storms, and wind gusts, especially towards the provinces: Monte Cristi, Elías Piña, Dajabón, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Santiago, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Hermanas Mirabal, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Samaná, Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, and La Altagracia. These rains will be present well into the night and will also move towards other areas as the frontal system moves over our territory.
