The National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) informed its affiliates that, starting this Monday, they will be able to consult through the mobile application (APP SeNaSa) the amount available for medication coverage. To access, users must update the application on their mobile devices. This information can also be managed in person at any of the institution's offices.
This function will only be available for the Contributory, Pensioners and Retirees, and Voluntary Plans regimes. Affiliates to the Subsidized Regime do not apply as they obtain their medications directly from the pharmacies of the people.
The measure is taken to ensure greater transparency for affiliates, as well as to facilitate their access to information about their coverage and promote a more efficient use of health services.
Similarly, dependents of legal age will also be able to view the available coverage for medications, provided they have an account created in the application. In the case of minors, the information will be available for consultation by the policyholder.
The institution also reported that, in case of identifying any irregularity with the amounts, affiliates can notify it through a phone call or through their digital channels: the Virtual Affiliates Office (OVA) and the Chatbot Sofía.
This improvement represents a significant step that seeks to optimize response times, strengthen trust in the services offered by SeNaSa, and continue expanding the service channels that make life easier for affiliates.
About SeNaSa
The National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) arises with the enactment of law 87-01, which creates the Dominican Social Security System. This Law establishes that SeNaSa is the autonomous and decentralized public institution responsible for the administration of health risks of subsidized, contributory and contributory-subsidized affiliates of the public sector and of the contributory affiliates of the private sector who choose it voluntarily.
On September 4, 2002, accreditation was granted to SeNaSa by Resolution No. 00052-2002 of the Superintendency of Health and Labor Risks (SISALRIL), authorizing it to perform health risk management functions in the Dominican Social Security System. In 2005, with Resolution No. 012-2005, definitive authorization was granted, for complying with the requirements established and evaluated by the Superintendency.
