United States.- The intense rains recorded in the last few hours caused severe flooding in several areas of Texas, forcing authorities to rescue dozens of people and issue evacuation orders in communities near the border with Mexico and in the mountainous region of the state.
The National Weather Service warned of the rapid advance of a dangerous river flood, urging the population to move immediately to high ground to avoid being trapped by the waters.
Kerrville city authorities urged residents to take shelter on the upper levels of their homes as emergency efforts continue.
In Uvalde, flooding left much of the city cut off during the early morning hours, forcing the deployment of boats and specialized teams to rescue people trapped in vehicles and homes.

Uvalde Police spokesperson, Juli Alvarado, reported that rescue teams worked throughout the night responding to emergency calls and that the use of helicopters was also being considered to expand search and assistance operations.
For its part, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed that state game wardens rescued more than 40 people, most of them in Uvalde County.
Although no fatalities or injuries related to the floods have been reported so far, authorities remain on alert due to the persistence of the rains and the risk of new flash floods.
The phenomenon occurs just a year after the devastating floods that hit the Texas Hill Country region and left more than a hundred dead, a tragedy that still remains in the memory of the residents.
