Bahamas. Ten people died this Friday after a small plane crashed in North Andros, west of Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, authorities reported.
Following the accident, the Bahamian government ordered the temporary suspension of all Flamingo Air airline operations, as part of the measures adopted while the causes of the incident are being investigated.
Initially, Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis reported that one person had survived the crash. However, hours later he confirmed that they also passed away due to the severity of their injuries, bringing the final death toll to 10 victims.
Through the social network X, the Head of Government expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that the country stands with those affected by the tragedy.

For its part, the Ministry of Energy, Public Utilities and Aviation explained that the suspension of Flamingo Air’s air operator certificate is a preventive measure while investigations are ongoing. The institution added that the decision also responds to two incidents related to air safety recorded during Friday, although it did not offer details on the second case.
So far, the authorities have not revealed the identity of the victims or the causes that led to the accident.
