Santo Domingo. - Authorities continue to deepen investigations into an alleged corruption scheme at the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), which has already resulted in the detention of several associates of former director Santiago Hazim. The arrests include former collaborators of the institution, contractor entrepreneurs, and family members linked to millionaire contracts.
Among those arrested are Gustavo Guilamo, identified as Hazim's chief of staff during his tenure; Gustavo Enrique Messina, former financial manager and considered a key figure in the management of resources between 2020 and 2024; and Germán Robles, a legal consultant identified by witnesses as "the head" of the internal network.
Also arrested were Rafael Martínez Hazim, nephew of the former director and implicated in awarding processes during his relative's administration; and businessman Eduardo Read Estrella, linked to companies contracted for primary care services.

The investigations also include a supplier identified as Ada Ledesma, implicated in alleged irregular contracts, and Cinty Acosta, executive president of the company IntraCare, whose detention had reportedly been confirmed by sources linked to the investigation. It is expected that in the coming hours the Public Ministry will present to the judge the request for coercive measures against those involved.
