Madrid. The Spanish national team began a massive tour through the streets of Madrid this Monday to celebrate with thousands of fans the conquest of their second FIFA World Cup title, achieved after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final held at MetLife Stadium.

The caravan began after the official receptions hosted by the Royal Household and the Spanish Government. Aboard an open-top bus, the champions traveled through the capital displaying the trophy and greeting the crowd that gathered along the route.

The footballers wore commemorative title shirts, while some players, such as Ferran Torres and Marcos Llorente, celebrated shirtless. During the parade, the team members sang, danced, and interacted with the fans who packed the streets, sidewalks, and bridges to accompany the historic celebration.

The itinerary, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), departed from the Moncloa Palace and proceeded through the streets of Princesa, Alberto Aguilera, Carranza, Sagasta, Génova, Goya, Serrano, Plaza de la Independencia, Puerta de Alcalá, Alfonso XII, and Montalbán, with the final destination at the Plaza de Cibeles.

The central act of the celebrations will take place in that iconic location, where the players will be presented to the fans and there will be musical performances by artists and groups such as Arde Bogotá, Viva Suecia, Ana Mena, Lola Índigo, and Aitana.

The Spanish delegation landed this Monday at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, where they were received before moving to a hotel in the capital. Subsequently, captain Rodri Hernández, together with head coach Luis de la Fuente and RFEF president Rafael Louzán, led the official receptions at the Zarzuela Palace and the Moncloa.

The celebration will culminate with a grand show at the Plaza de Cibeles, where thousands of fans will join the national team on a night dedicated to celebrating the achievement of the second star for Spanish football.
