Santiago.– The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the Judicial District of Santiago imposed three months of preventive detention this Friday against Carlos José D’Aza, known as “Tulin”, accused of causing the death of Jean Carlos Toribio during an incident that occurred in the municipality of Villa González.
The measure was issued by judge Yiberty Polanco, who ordered that the defendant serve the coercion at the Rafey Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Santiago, while the Public Prosecutor’s Office deepens the investigations into the case.
According to the file, Toribio was wounded with a bladed weapon in the early hours of last Monday, July 6. Although he attempted to travel on his own to a health center to receive medical attention, he passed away on the way due to the severity of the injury, according to the certificate issued by the medical examiner.

Relatives of the victim reported that, before dying, Jean Carlos Toribio sent a voice note in which he identified the alleged attacker, an element that is part of the evidence analyzed by the authorities during the investigation.
According to preliminary information, the conflict allegedly originated from differences related to the separation of the deceased’s sister and her ex-partner. Family members maintain that Toribio had confronted the now-accused on several occasions in defense of his relative, because the latter allegedly insisted on resuming the romantic relationship.
