San Cristóbal.– Moments of tension were experienced this Saturday outside the San Cristóbal Courthouse, after a court imposed three months of preventive detention on Roger Martínez de los Santos, accused of killing his ex-partner, Darinee Espinosa Asencio, in Hatillo.
After the hearing concluded, dozens of people who remained in the vicinity of the courthouse reacted upon seeing the defendant leave under police custody. In the footage, it can be seen how several people ran toward him, while the officers accelerated his transfer to an official vehicle to avoid incidents.
Once the accused was placed in the police unit, part of the crowd continued behind the vehicle amidst demands for justice for the young woman’s death.

The court ordered that Roger Martínez de los Santos, 25, serve the coercive measure for a period of three months at the Baní Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), while the Public Prosecutor’s Office continues with the investigation of the case.
