Santo Domingo. – The Transportation Cabinet reported that this Sunday the Phase IV of the restriction of left turns will continue, as part of the Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan “RD Moves”, an initiative that seeks to improve urban mobility in the National District.
The measure, which has already been applied at 14 intersections in the capital, will continue to impact the corridors of John F. Kennedy Avenue and February 27th Avenue as main axes.
In this stage, the intersection of Núñez de Cáceres Avenue with John F. Kennedy will be intervened, reducing the traffic light phases from four to three by eliminating the East-South and West-North turns.
For drivers who usually turn from East to South, the alternate route will be to take 1st street to the right, then turn left on Central street and continue on Gardenia street until rejoining south to cross Kennedy.
While those traveling from West to North must continue straight to José López street, turn right, then right again on Félix Mota street and, from there, take Núñez de Cáceres avenue north to cross Kennedy.
The process will be supported by DIGESETT, whose agents will be assisting drivers during the implementation of the changes. Also, alternate routes will be available on traffic platforms such as WAZE, so that users have access to real-time information. With these actions, the Transportation Cabinet reaffirms its commitment to offer sustainable and efficient solutions, aimed at reducing traffic congestion, improving road safety, and moving towards a more orderly and modern mobility for the benefit of all citizens.
