Three other soldiers were injured, although according to the president "they are doing well", and the attacker was shot dead.
“This is an ISIS attack against the United States and Syria, in a very dangerous area of Syria that is not fully controlled by them. The President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, is very angry and concerned about this attack,” Trump assured.
The Republican leader pointed out that Syrian forces have cooperated with the Americans.
Sean Parnell, a Pentagon spokesman, explained that the attack occurred while the soldiers were holding a meeting with local leaders.

"If they attack Americans, anywhere in the world, they will spend the rest of their short and agonizing lives knowing that the United States will pursue them, find them, and eliminate them without mercy," said Hegseth.
