Washington.- United States President Donald Trump announced this Friday that he had held the first meeting with the Committee for the Preservation of the White House amid controversy over the construction of the Ballroom for which it has been necessary to demolish the East Wing of the building.
"It went really well", Trump wrote about the meeting on his Truth account, "they are wonderful people who love the building and love our country even more".
The president detailed that during the visit "I showed them the Lincoln Bedroom, the Queens' Room, the Yellow Oval, the Map Room, the East Room and other places. They loved everything."
Trump closes the message with an eloquent "After many years, the White House is being valued and cared for as it deserves!".
The White House renovation has become one of the obsessions of the American president, who takes every opportunity to boast about the changes and the legacy he will leave in the presidential complex.
The construction of the new complex, which is designed to accommodate between 650 and a thousand guests for dinners and state events, began with a cost of about 200 million dollars, but has been rising in design revisions to around 400 million dollars.
