Santo Domingo.- The Venezuelan community residing in the Dominican Republic gathered this Wednesday at the Primatial Cathedral of America to hold a mass in prayer for the victims of the devastating earthquakes that affected Venezuela, leaving thousands dead, injured, and displaced families.
The Eucharist was organized by the Dominican-Venezuelan Chamber of Commerce (Cadoven) as an act of faith, hope, and solidarity, in which the support provided by the Dominican people and state institutions during the emergency was also recognized.
During the ceremony, the president of Cadoven, Luis Enrique Meneses, thanked the Dominican Government for its rapid response and highlighted the deployment of Operation Quisqueya Solidaria 2026, through which specialized teams traveled to Venezuelan territory to collaborate in search and rescue efforts.
“We want to express our special gratitude to the national government, which, immediately upon learning of the tragedy in Venezuela, deployed all its services to be present and help us,” he/she expressed.

Likewise, he valued the participation of the Specialized Corps for Emergency and Disaster Mitigation (CEMED), whose members were recognized for their dedication during the rescue operations.
The Cadoven representative also highlighted the solidarity shown by Dominican society, both in relief efforts and at the collection center set up to gather food, medicine, and supplies for the affected communities.

“The Dominicans have lent us their support and have stood by us. When I speak of the volunteers, I could say that more than 50% are Dominican,” he stated.
During his speech, he compared the humanitarian response to biblical passages such as the miracle of the wedding at Cana and the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, noting that the union of wills allowed for the transformation of small actions into a great display of hope for the Venezuelan people.
The ceremony concluded with a prayer for the victims, the missing, and the rescue teams, as well as a message of gratitude to the Dominican Republic for the support provided since the first hours of the tragedy.
“God bless the Dominican Republic. God bless Venezuela”, concluded Meneses.
