SAMANÁ.– A woman passed away this Monday afternoon in the community of Majagual, municipality of Sánchez, allegedly due to a heart attack after learning that two of her relatives were seriously injured during a brawl that occurred in the area.
The victim was identified as Jesucita Calcaño, who, according to preliminary information, suffered a collapse after receiving the news that her son, Mario Calcaño, 53, and her grandson, Steven Calcaño, had been injured with bladed weapons.
According to reports, both men confronted each other during an argument that ended in a violent fight, in which they suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to the Dr. Alberto Gautreaux Municipal Hospital, in the municipality of Sánchez, where they remain receiving medical attention.

The circumstances that originated the confrontation are being investigated by the authorities, who are seeking to establish the causes of the incident.
Meanwhile, the passing of Jesucita Calcaño has caused dismay among relatives and residents of the Majagual community, who mourn the tragedy that has brought grief to that family.
