On October 14, 2025, a woman was found dead at the Disney’s Contemporary Resort, located next to the Magic Kingdom park in Orlando, Florida.
The Orange County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the death was a suicide due to multiple blunt force injuries. The case generated national attention due to its location within one of the world's most visited tourist complexes.
The victim's identity was established as Summer Equitz, and according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the death is being investigated as an "apparent suicide" and denied that the death was associated with an impact with the monorail that runs through the emblematic hotel.

The Disney’s Contemporary Resort is among the most emblematic accommodations in Walt Disney World for its architecture and because a monorail line runs internally through the structure, which frequently generates high expectations and comments from guests.
