However, in the morning some local showers could occur in towns such as Barahona, San Crist\u00f3bal, Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Macor\u00eds.\n\n\n<p>During the afternoon, atmospheric conditions could vary in provinces of the North Cibao and Northwest, such as Monte Cristi, Dajab\u00f3n, Valverde, Santiago Rodr\u00edguez, Puerto Plata and Santiago, where local showers accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and wind gusts are expected. These precipitations will be associated with the dragging of humidity by the south\/southeast wind and the influence of a weak trough in the upper levels of the troposphere.<\/p>\n\n\nIndomet warned that temperatures will remain hot, with a thermal sensation even higher. The population is advised to drink plenty of water, wear light-colored clothing, and avoid prolonged sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Children and the elderly are the most vulnerable groups to these conditions.\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead to Sunday, June 1st, the hurricane season officially begins in the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of America (formerly the Gulf of Mexico), and the Caribbean Sea. Forecasts indicate an active season, with an estimated formation of between 13 and 19 tropical storms, of which between 6 and 10 could become hurricanes, and between 3 and 5 would reach major category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite this context, the weather conditions for Sunday will be mostly stable in the Dominican Republic, favoring outdoor activities. A sunny and hazy sky is expected, with the presence of Saharan dust particles and the influence of an anticyclonic system. Only isolated showers with thunderstorms are anticipated in sectors such as Monte Cristi, Dajab\u00f3n, Santiago Rodr\u00edguez, and Valverde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forecast by zones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Distrito Nacional and municipalities of Santo Domingo (North, East, and West): isolated morning showers.
