Among them are the forensic engineer Fierro, from the University of California; the pathology engineer M\u00e1ximo Corominas, from the Eduardo Torroja Institute, in Spain; the engineer Marcos Paniagua, with training at the Catholic University of Chile; and Remi Luciano, with a master's degree in earthquake-resistant engineering.\n\nPresident Luis Abinader had announced, during La Semanal<\/a>, that the commission began working from the very day of the collapse, with the purpose of clarifying the causes of the accident and determining possible responsibilities.\n\nIt is expected that, with this preliminary report in the hands of the Public Ministry, legal and administrative decisions can be made to avoid similar tragedies in the future, as well as to establish whether there was negligence in the construction, maintenance, or supervision of the establishment.\n\n\n
