{"id":472331,"date":"2025-06-21T11:17:25","date_gmt":"2025-06-21T15:17:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/deligne-ascension-values-economic-cultural-and-political-contributions-of-the-dominican-community-in-the-usa\/"},"modified":"2025-06-21T11:17:25","modified_gmt":"2025-06-21T15:17:25","slug":"deligne-ascension-values-economic-cultural-and-political-contributions-of-the-dominican-community-in-the-usa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/dominican-news\/deligne-ascension-values-economic-cultural-and-political-contributions-of-the-dominican-community-in-the-usa\/","title":{"rendered":"Deligne Ascensi\u00f3n values economic, cultural, and political contributions of the Dominican community in the USA"},"content":{"rendered":"New York.-<\/strong> The Secretary of Organization of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM),<\/a><\/strong> Deligne Ascenci\u00f3n Burgos<\/strong>, highlighted last Friday the great contributions made to the Dominican Republic by the Dominican community in the United States, and stressed that Luis Abinader’s is the first government that pays attention to their needs.\n\nWhile speaking last night in New York at the first of two conferences in the United States under the name, \u201cThe Country that Luis Builds\u201d<\/strong>, Ascensi\u00f3n Burgos asserted that the Creole community in the United States is no longer a nostalgia and has long been a pillar of the economy, a factor of social and political influence, and a source of cultural enrichment for the Dominican people.\n\n“You, who are an essential part of our great diaspora, have not only proudly carried the tricolor flag beyond the sea, but have also been a silent \u2014but powerful\u2014 pillar of the economic, cultural, and human development of the Dominican people,” said the speaker to several hundred PRM leaders, consular representatives, and other personalities who attended the Berberly Hills Manon, on Jerome Av. in the Bronx.\n\nAscensi\u00f3n Burgos, third hierarchical position in the PRM leadership and first in institutional organization and operations, has been promoting since November an initiative to defend and promote the contributions in physical, social and institutional works of President Abinader’s administration.\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\nHe recalled that it was the visionary leader Jos\u00e9 Francisco Pe\u00f1a G\u00f3mez who promoted the dual nationality initiative that would allow Dominicans to achieve the growing political weight they have today in the United States.\n\nHighlighting the influence of the Creole community in the United States, the high-ranking political leader and official recalled that the first spontaneous denunciations against corruption in previous administrations began in New York, where people denounced the representatives of the then-ruling party in the streets and public places.\n\nAlthough he defined it as a process of progress, Ascensi\u00f3n Burgos summarized that, among other measures of the Abinader government, Dominican consulates in the United States have been modernized <\/strong>and elevated to the category of service and dignity centers, instead of bureaucratic warehouses for politicians.\n\n“For our government, its diaspora is a strategic priority for national development, and that is why we have treated it with the dignity and support it deserves,” he explained.\n\n“Here in New York, up to 11 state institutions are providing direct services, including the Banco de Reservas, which provides financial facilities, Senasa, which extends its social services to several American citizens, Infotep, which has trained 10,000 Dominicans abroad in technical areas, the Intrant that facilitates the validation of driver’s licenses,” he added.\n\nHe also mentioned that for Dominicans abroad, it has been especially valuable that the Abinader government has put an end to government corruption<\/strong> and carries out transparent management, which has attracted strong flows of foreign investment, tourism, and given great international reputation to our country.\n\nHe pointed out that despite the adverse factors that have affected the world economy in the last 5 years, under President Abinader’s leadership the country has improved the quality of life of the people, which is recognized by various international organizations. The last of these organizations was the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, which recognized in its most recent report that the Dominican Republic is among the countries that maintains greater prosperity in the region, due to the increase in per capita GDP and the sustained reduction of monetary poverty.\n\n\n

You may be interested in: <\/strong>Deligne states that employment records and formality improve the quality of life of many Dominican families<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nIn terms of infrastructure, the government has, in conclusion, transformed the old Duarte highway, turning it into a modern and safe road; completed the Monte Grande dam reservoir; has inaugurated and is completing bypasses to remove traffic from important head municipalities and built a large network of other roads, aqueducts, health centers and other works.\nIt has made progress in the pre-university public education system, including a School Transportation system, increased the number of scholarships in higher education, among others.\n\nIn institutional terms, Ascenci\u00f3n cited as major contributions the respect for the independence of the public powers, constitutionally restricting presidential continuity; the reform and modernization of the Police and the application of an adequate strategy and actions to address the situation of the Haitian crisis. He highlighted that in this patriotic purpose, Abinader has managed to unite the majority of the country, including former presidents Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez, Hip\u00f3lito Mej\u00eda and Danilo Medina.\n\nPrior to the conference, Julin Mateo, president of the PRM section, and the consuls of Jes\u00fas V\u00e1squez and Bertico Santana from Pennsylvania intervened. The Secretariat of Dominicans Abroad, headed by Neftal\u00ed Fuerte, recognized Ascenci\u00f3n, Rafael Santos Bad\u00eda, Dionisio de los Santos, Sara Paulino C\u00e1rdenas, and Jaime Marte Mart\u00ednez, for their performance at the head of the work of the Internal and Operational Elections Commission of the party.\n\nThe conference was attended by the main leaders of the PRM in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, overseas deputies, consular authorities and Senator Carlos G\u00f3mez, from Espaillat, who was politically active in New York, as well as a commission of national leaders of the PRM who accompany Ascenci\u00f3n in the initiative El Pa\u00eds que Construye Luis.\n\n\n
