Rome.-<\/strong> American magnate Jeff Bezos<\/strong> and his fianc\u00e9e Lauren S\u00e1nchez <\/strong>arrived this Wednesday in the Italian city of Venice <\/strong>for their wedding, which will bring together numerous celebrities and whose organization has been criticized by neighbors and associations.<\/p>\n\n\nThe founder of Amazon <\/strong><\/a> and his future wife toured the Grand Canal aboard a launch until they reached the pier of the luxurious Aman hotel, which placed a tent at its entrance to ensure their privacy, according to local media.\n\nBezos got off the boat and went straight into the hotel while the former television presenter waved.\n\nAround the wedding, there is total silence and even the date is unknown<\/strong>, which is expected next weekend, or the place, as some media outlets claim that the venue has been changed at the last minute for security reasons.\n\nInitially, they explain, it had been planned to organize the ceremony in the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a splendid palace in the Cannaregio district, but now it has been moved to the Arsenale, the place where the Art and Architecture Biennials are held, as it is considered more private and easily accessible.\n\n\n

The hotel where they will spend these pleasant days is one of the most luxurious in Venice and was the same one chosen by George Clooney<\/strong> and Amal Alamuddin<\/strong> for their wedding in 2014.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe president of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia<\/strong>, assured in a statement that Bezos and S\u00e1nchez have tripled the donation they had announced in favor of the city, up to three million euros (about 3.5 million dollars at the current exchange rate).\n\nThis amount of \"extraordinary generosity\" will be directed to three entities in the city: the scientific and environmental consortium Corila, the International University of Venice, and the UNESCO Office.\n\n\"I hope the sparks that have flown between Bezos and Venice can be transformed into a lasting bond: a constant commitment to the city, its inhabitants, and its environment (...) 'Welcome in Venice, Jeff!'\", wrote Zaia in the note.\n\n\n
