Santo Domingo.- <\/strong>The business group Midas Dominicana, S.A<\/a><\/strong>, in charge of the creation of the new electronic passport<\/strong> for the Dominican Republic, assured this Thursday in a meeting with the media that the country will have the document this year 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The decision to adopt a biometric passport could not wait any longer. It will become a reality by 2025, I am proud to say that this year we will have the biometric passport in our hands,” stated Carlos Jos\u00e9 Mont\u00e1s<\/strong>, executive vice president of Midas Dominicana. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe meeting was attended by representatives from its two main partners in the process, Entrust<\/a>, which is the company in charge of printing the booklets and THALES<\/a><\/strong>, who will be in charge of providing the technology to protect the data in the electronic passports<\/strong>.\n\n\n

This scenario was the perfect environment in which they explained all the details involved in the elaboration of a biometric passport<\/strong> with which the Dominican Republic adjusts to the standards that will allow to raise the security levels demanded by this document today. <\/p>\n\n\n“Today the world demands that we rise to the challenges of security, security threats are increasingly sophisticated, that is why at Midas Dominicana<\/strong> we are thinking about the future, we have first-class international partners such as Thales and Entrust who lead global security and document personalization solutions, both physical and digital”, added Mont\u00e1s<\/strong>.\n\n\n
