Under that logic, the Dominican State has a golden opportunity that it has not yet known how to take advantage of: the assets seized from organized crime and corruption networks.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"ePzHEROtnpE\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LUJO Y CRIMEN: EL OSCURO SECRETO QUE NADIE TE CONT\u00d3\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ePzHEROtnpE?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\nThat heritage exists, it is tangible, and it is under the custody of the <strong>National Institute for the Custody and Administration of Seized Assets (INCABIDE)<\/strong>. These are assets that not only represent material wealth, but also the possibility of translating criminal justice into social justice.\n\n\n<p>Until April 2025, the state inventory includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>More than 200 vehicles<\/strong>, some with high resale value or institutional use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>49 luxury watches<\/strong> and <strong>jewelry valued at hundreds of thousands of pesos<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two yachts<\/strong> and <strong>more than 300 properties<\/strong> with a final seizure sentence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RD$559 million in cash<\/strong>, which has already entered the National Treasury.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\nThe official narrative is that they are \"in the process of registration and evaluation,\" with the promise of public auctions \"soon.\" But time passes, assets depreciate, and capital \u2014 instead of being strategically reinvested in education, health, or security \u2014 remains static, as if the State doesn't know what to do with the power it holds.\n\nThis is not just an administrative problem. It's a matter of <strong>governance<\/strong>. Each fixed asset is a decision not made. Each unheld auction is a missed opportunity. And every peso that is not transformed into citizen well-being is, in essence, a political failure.\n\nThe fight against corruption doesn't end in the courts.
