This work, conceived during the administration of former president Danilo Medina, was proposed as a model of integral urban development for the benefit of working-class families.\n\nDuring a phone call to the radio program El Sol de la Ma\u00f1ana, Cuello responded to statements by the Minister of the Presidency, Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Paliza, who assured that upon assuming the government in 2020 they found a “collapsed” project.\n\n\n

She explained that a recent visit, made with a PLD political commission, allowed them to verify the deterioration of basic services and the precariousness of the residents’ lives.\n\nAmong the main problems identified, he mentioned: constant blackouts, deficiency of public transport, scarcity of drinking water, increasing insecurity, accumulation of garbage and unsanitary conditions, collapsed stormwater drainage system and poor road infrastructure\n\nCuello also lamented that many of the social facilities built during the PLD governments \u2014 such as care centers for the elderly, inclusive parks, police detachments, a hospital, and a fire station \u2014 are without maintenance or out of service.\n\n\n
