The only exception<\/strong> will be for those who renew their B1, B2 or B1\/B2 visas within 12 months of their expiration<\/strong>, and for diplomatic visas<\/strong>.\n\n\n

Social Profile Under Scrutiny<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\nAngulo also revealed that student visa applicants<\/strong> will have to allow access to their social media profiles<\/strong>, as part of the evaluation process. This measure seeks to verify that the purpose of the trip is consistent with what is stated in the application<\/strong>.\n\n\n

Firm brake on illegal migration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n“Combating irregular migration is our number one priority in the region,” Angulo stated, highlighting that the US administration is working in a coordinated manner, from the Department of State to ICE and the Coast Guard.\n\nAlthough the Dominican Republic is not among the countries sanctioned with visa issuance suspensions<\/strong>, Angulo was emphatic: the message from the U.S. government is clear for the entire region.\n\n\n

Countries under sanction<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\nThe United States imposed immigration restrictions on citizens of 12 countries<\/strong> since June, including Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen<\/strong>, who will not be able to access any type of visa. Other countries, such as Cuba, Venezuela, and Sierra Leone<\/strong>, face partial limitations<\/strong>, including B, F, M, and J visas.\n\n\n
