Likewise, some cloud increases could occur, generated by the afternoon heat, with some showers and thunderstorms expected over towns in: Pedernales, Elías Piña, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Santiago, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, the coastal area of Hato Mayor and El Seibo, among other neighboring locations, which will disappear at the beginning of the night.

However, by Wednesday, the high-pressure system will continue to limit cloud cover over much of the Dominican territory. Nevertheless, a trough will add to the daytime heating and the interaction of the wind with the terrain's orography, to cause heavy showers in isolated points, thunderstorms and wind gusts towards provinces in the northwest, north, the Central Mountain Range and the border area, especially over: Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Valverde, the northern part of San Juan and Elías Piña, among other bordering provinces, during the afternoon and the early hours of the night.

Cyclonic activity in the Atlantic basin, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico:

Humberto is now a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
