Santiago.- Judge of the Permanent Attention Office of the Judicial District of Santiago, Yerixa Cabral, will resume this Thursday, October 9, the hearing for the request for coercive measures against 11 members of the National Police, accused of having participated in the death of five men during an alleged irregular operation that occurred on September 10 in the La Barranquita sector of this city.<\/p>\n
The hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. in the Second Collegiate Court, after having been postponed last week at the request of the defense lawyers, who asked for time to study the accusatory file and for the victims’ families to be present in the process.<\/p>\n
The agents remain detained in the small jail of the Palace of Justice of Santiago and will be transferred again this Thursday for the continuation of the hearing.<\/p>\n
Among those processed are the elders \u00c1lvaro Paredes Paniagua and Hansel Michel Cuevas Carrasco; Captain Jos\u00e9 Ignacio G\u00f3mez Rodr\u00edguez; Second Lieutenant Domingo de los Santos Vargas; Corporals Yohandy Encarnaci\u00f3n, Geyser Francisco \u00c1lvarez Rodr\u00edguez and C\u00e9sar Augusto Mart\u00ednez Trinidad; Sergeant Major S\u00f3crates Fidel F\u00e9liz F\u00e9liz; Sergeant Hairo Mateo Morillo; and Privates Adri\u00e1n Miguel Villalona Pineda and Jos\u00e9 Octavio Jim\u00e9nez Pe\u00f1a.<\/p>\n
The victims were identified as Elvis Antonio Mart\u00ednez Rodr\u00edguez (Deivito), 26 years old; Julio Alberto G\u00f3mez (La Tabla), 28; Carlos Enrique Guzm\u00e1n Navarro (Charly or Charli Chasc), 40; Edward Bernardo Pe\u00f1a Rodr\u00edguez, 35; and Jos\u00e9 Vladimir Valerio Est\u00e9vez, 25 years old.<\/p>\n
The Public Ministry requested 18 months of preventive prison as a coercive measure and that the process be declared a complex case, by imputing them with criminal association and voluntary homicide.<\/p>\n
According to the record, the police would have arrived in three vehicles to a shopping center in La Barranquita, where the victims were, and opened fire without a word. Subsequently, they allegedly removed the DVRs from the security cameras and the cell phones of several people who recorded the event, with the purpose of hiding evidence and hindering the investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
