<\/p>\n\n\nSanto Domingo<\/strong>. \u2014 The Advisory Commission<\/strong> appointed by President Luis Abinader<\/strong> to evaluate the construction of a new baseball stadium<\/strong> in the country, held a key meeting this Thursday in which the official requirements sent by Major League Baseball (MLB)<\/strong> were known regarding the necessary conditions for the new facility to be able to host regular season games and international events<\/strong>.\n\n\n

You may be interested<\/strong>:Gigantes del Cibao announce the signing of catcher Cooper Johnson<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nDuring the meeting, held at the offices of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM)<\/strong>, the members of the commission agreed to hire a court interpreter<\/strong> to translate into Spanish the document sent by MLB \u2014originally in English\u2014, in order to carry out an exhaustive evaluation before making a final decision on the project.\n\nLikewise, a progress report from the legal subcommittee<\/strong> was presented, comprised of the jurists Ang\u00e9lica Noboa Pag\u00e1n, Elka Scheker Mendoza, Edgar Torres Reynoso and Julissa V\u00e1squez<\/strong>, who are in charge of analyzing all legal and contractual aspects of the project. This subcommittee is advised by the prominent lawyer Olivo Rodr\u00edguez Huertas<\/strong>.\n\nReceived Communications and Next Steps<\/strong>\n\nThe commission also acknowledged receipt of the interview requests<\/strong> sent by Alejandro Marranzini Capano<\/strong>, legal representative of Championship Venture, Ltd.<\/strong>, and by Eduardo Najri<\/strong>, president of the Escogido Baseball Club<\/strong>, who expressed interest in presenting their views on the work.
It was reported that both parties will be heard in due course, as has been done with other individuals and entities that have requested participation in the consultation process.\n\n\n

Meeting Participants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nIn addition to the legal commissioners, the meeting was attended by Minister of Sports Kelvin Cruz<\/strong>, the General Director of Bandex, Catalino Correa Hiciano<\/strong>, the President of LIDOM, Vitelio Mej\u00eda Ortiz<\/strong>, and the National Baseball Commissioner, Junior Noboa<\/strong>.\n\nThe president of the Consultative Commission, doctor Jorge Subero Isa<\/strong>, highlighted that the works are progressing according to what was established by the presidential mandate, ensuring that the project is developed with transparency, technical rigor and the due participation of all actors linked to baseball and the urban development of the area where the new stadium will be located.\n\n\n

\u201cWe are in a stage of analysis and information gathering. The goal is to ensure that the new stadium meets the highest international standards and serves as a national pride,\u201d said Subero Isa.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nWith the formal reception of MLB’s requirements and the progress of legal evaluations, the Advisory Commission is moving towards the technical and legal design phase<\/strong> that will determine the final feasibility of the new Dominican Republic baseball stadium<\/strong>.\n\n\n
