He also explained that a provisional seizure constitutes a precautionary measure for the purpose of confiscation, which must be ratified by a judge during the trial on the merits.\n\n\n

“For the property to be seized, it must be proven that it was acquired with illicit money. If that is not proven, the judge will order its return,” Balc\u00e1cer specified.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nHe added that, although G\u00f3mez cannot sell, exchange, or make any transaction with the property, he can continue to live in it while it remains judicially frozen.\n\nJudge Patricia Padilla, of the Second Instruction Court of the National District, had set a deadline of October 8th for the Public Prosecutor’s Office to conclude the investigation.\n\nThe Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) accuses G\u00f3mez Cana\u00e1n, owner of the company Aurix S.A.S., of being the main economic beneficiary of the alleged fraudulent awarding of millionaire contracts granted by Intrant to companies that, according to the authorities, lacked the required technical capacity.\n\n\n
