Santo Domingo, DR. \u2014<\/strong> The candidate for the rectorate of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) for the period 2026-2030, master Radham\u00e9s Silverio Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>, received official support from five student movements this Tuesday during a massive event held in the Manuel del Cabral auditorium of the Pedro Mir Library.<\/p>\n\n\nDuring the activity, Silverio thanked the support of FELABEL<\/strong> (Student Liberation Front Am\u00edn Abel), GEI<\/strong> (Independent Student Group), MED23<\/strong> (Dominican Student Movement 23), Punto de Encuentro<\/strong>, FESD-16<\/strong> (Social Democratic Student Front 16), as well as the president of the Federation of Dominican Students (FED)<\/strong>, Pedro Mart\u00ednez. The candidate highlighted that student movements are essential pieces for innovation, the defense of rights, and the formation of leadership committed to social justice.\n\n\n

You may be interested in:<\/strong> UASD will present its University Security Strategic Plan<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nIn the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women<\/strong>, Silverio dedicated a special message to the women of the university community and reaffirmed his commitment to inclusion, gender equality, and the creation of safe spaces within the academy.\n\nThe candidate recalled his origins in Batey Maguaca, Montecristi<\/strong>, and his career from computer science student, through management roles, vice-deanship, deanship and his current position as Vice-Rector of Research and Postgraduate<\/strong>. \u201cMy goal is to continue this path as the next rector, to build a more modern, inclusive and student-friendly UASD\u201d, he expressed.\n\nDuring the event, he presented his UASD Strategic Plan 2026-2030<\/strong>, focused on student well-being and technological modernization. Among its main proposals are: strengthening of cafeterias, transportation and health services; expansion of digital training programs; implementation of smart classrooms and digital libraries; construction of the Intelligent Student Tower<\/strong>; new university residences; and promotion of international academic mobility.\n\nSilverio also announced initiatives such as the creation of a Student Innovation Fund<\/strong>, an Employability Office<\/strong>, a student ID card with benefits<\/strong>, the academic social network #YOSOYUASD<\/strong> and new services based on artificial intelligence<\/strong> to improve the university experience.\n\nThe student support was led by Carluis \u00c1lvarez<\/strong> (FELABEL), Winston Morfe<\/strong> (GEI), Junior Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> (MED23), Jonathan Lorenzo<\/strong> (Punto de Encuentro) and Mohamed Pl\u00e1cido<\/strong> (FESD-16). Together, these organizations represent more than 70% of the student votes<\/strong> of the electoral body.\n\n\n

At the event, various student and faculty leaders reiterated their commitment to Silverio's project, highlighting that collaboration between authorities and students is fundamental to strengthening the public university. \"Dear UASD youth, you are the generational replacement of this nation. When the best unites, UASD wins... and all of us, let's go for more,\" concluded Silverio, received with an ovation.<\/p>\n\n\nThe welcoming remarks were given by the president of the FED, Pedro Mart\u00ednez. Likewise, Dr. Radham\u00e9s Bautista L\u00f3pez Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, candidate for Vice-Rector of Extension, formally presented Silverio as a candidate for the Rectorship.\n\n\n
