Monegro<\/strong>, director of the newspaper <em>El D\u00eda<\/em>, was recognized this Friday during the opening ceremony of the <strong>National Minibasketball Convivium 2025<\/strong>, an event dedicated to him and which brings together the <strong>12 best teams in the country<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You may be interested in<\/strong>:<a href=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/deportes\/futbol\/cibao-fc-visita-a-salcedo-el-domingo-en-la-jornada-18-de-la-ldf\/#google_vignette\">Cibao FC visits Salcedo on Sunday in matchday 18 of the LDF<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nThe protocol ceremony was held at the <strong>Horacio Muratore National Minibasketball House<\/strong>, in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, and was led by engineer <strong>Rafael Uribe<\/strong>, president of the <strong>Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal)<\/strong>, along with <strong>Sports Immortal and Vice Minister of Sports, Fernando Teruel<\/strong>, president of the <strong>National Minibasket Commission<\/strong>.\n\nThe recognition was presented to Monegro by Uribe and Teruel, accompanied by <strong>Alberto Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, executive director of the <strong>National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI)<\/strong>; <strong>Andr\u00e9s Vanderhorts<\/strong>, former Secretary of Sports; and <strong>Junior P\u00e1ez<\/strong>, vice president of Fedombal. Also present were the Immortals of Sport <strong>Evaristo P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, as well as <strong>Fausto Paulino<\/strong> and <strong>Luis Minier<\/strong>, presidents of the basketball associations of <strong>San Pedro de Macor\u00eds<\/strong> and <strong>Montecristi<\/strong>, respectively.\n\n\n<p>In thanking for the dedication of the Convivio, Monegro expressed his gratitude to the organizers, leaders, and athletes of national minibasketball.<br>\u201c<strong>Athletes, enjoy your event during these three days of activity \u2014from the 12th to the 14th of this month\u2014, play, have fun, and make friends, many of them for life<\/strong>\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n\n\nJos\u00e9 Monegro is the <strong>former president of the Basketball Association of the National District (Abadina)<\/strong>, a period in which he significantly promoted the development of mini-basketball. He currently chairs the <strong>Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026<\/strong>.\n\nDuring the event, <strong>Rafael Uribe<\/strong>, <strong>Fernando Teruel<\/strong> and <strong>Alberto Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> agreed in highlighting that mini-basketball, at the ages of <strong>11 and 12 years old<\/strong>, constitutes the base where the future of Dominican basketball and the formation of better citizens is forged.\n\nUribe informed that from this Convivio, <strong>25 children<\/strong> will be selected to become part of the <strong>Youth National Teams Project<\/strong>, from which the future <strong>U15, U17, U19<\/strong> teams and the <strong>senior national team<\/strong> will emerge.\n\nThe <strong>sports oath<\/strong> was taken by the child <strong>Eli\u00e1n Benet Aracena<\/strong>, representing the <strong>National District<\/strong>.\n\nAll games of the 2025 National Minibasketball Convivio will be broadcast simultaneously on <strong>YouTube<\/strong>, from the three available courts, through the official channel <strong>Fedombal TV<\/strong>.\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Division by groups<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The 12 participating teams were divided into two groups:<\/p>\n\n\n<strong>Group A:<\/strong> Santiago, Distrito Nacional, La Vega, Duverg\u00e9 (Independencia), San Crist\u00f3bal and San Pedro de Macor\u00eds.<br><strong>Group B:<\/strong> Moca (Espaillat), Puerto Plata, San Juan, Santo Domingo Province, El Seibo and Barahona.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- The journalist Jos\u00e9 P.
