SANTO DOMINGO.\u2013<\/strong> The \u00c1guilas Cibae\u00f1as<\/strong>, leaders of the regular season standings, opened this Wednesday the Re-entry Draft of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM)<\/a><\/strong> by selecting as their first pick infielder Cristhian Adames<\/strong>, belonging to the Tigres del Licey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may be interested in:<\/strong>Adames moves from Licey to \u00c1guilas as the first pick of the re-entry draft<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nMeanwhile, the Toros del Este<\/strong> focused their strategy on reinforcing their pitching, especially the relief, by choosing right-handed pitcher Jean Carlos Mej\u00eda<\/strong>, also from Licey, in the first round.\n\nThe draft was held at noon by LIDOM and consisted of six rounds<\/strong> for the four semifinalist teams<\/strong>, which starting next Saturday will compete in the round robin<\/strong> in search of a place in the Final Series of the tournament dedicated to Juan Marichal<\/strong>.\n\nIn the first selections, the Eagles bet on the batting and experience of Adames, while the Bulls prioritized strengthening their bullpen. For their part, the Gigantes del Cibao<\/strong> chose catcher Francisco Mej\u00eda<\/strong> (Licey), and the first round was closed by the Leones del Escogido<\/strong>, who selected reliever Patrick Weigl<\/strong> (Estrellas Orientales).\n\nAccording to the regulations, each team could choose six players<\/strong>, with a minimum of three native players<\/strong>.\n\n\n
