Julio Iglesias<\/strong>\u00a0has hired the lawyer\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Antonio Chocl\u00e1n\u00a0<\/strong>to face the complaint of sexual abuse filed by two former employees of his houses in the Caribbean, as confirmed this Thursday by legal sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Spanish National Court Prosecutor’s Office<\/strong> will take statements as protected witnesses from the two women who, on January 5, reported, represented by the Women’s Link organization, cases of sexual harassment and assault in 2021 by the singer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events would have occurred in the houses of Julio Iglesias in the Dominican Republic<\/strong>, Bahamas and Spain. One of the women was a housekeeper and the other a physiotherapist, according to an investigation by the Spanish digital media elDiario.es and the American channel Univision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As it is an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office, which has not yet been brought to court and remains secret, the lawyer cannot at the moment appear in the proceedings. The Prosecutor’s Office has six months to decide whether to shelve the case or file a complaint with the National Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
