Santo Domingo.\u2013<\/em> <\/strong>The Dominican Republic Meteorology Institute (INDOMET)<\/a><\/strong> reported that this Sunday a cold front associated with a trough<\/strong> will continue to generate heavy rains, isolated storms and wind gusts<\/strong> in a large part of the national territory, which is why meteorological alerts are maintained<\/strong> due to possible urban floods.<\/p>\n\n\nThe provinces under alert<\/strong> are: La Romana, La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, El Seibo, San Crist\u00f3bal and Gran Santo Domingo<\/strong>, including the National District.\n\nAccording to the National Forecast Center, significant cloud cover and heavy rainfall are recorded from early hours in areas of the east, southeast, and northeast, with a tendency to extend during the afternoon towards the Cibao, the Central mountain range, and the northwest.\n\nFor the night<\/strong>, the most important rains will be concentrated in the eastern and northern portion<\/strong> of the country. These conditions are due to the direct influence of the trough and the strengthening of the cold front, currently located over Haiti.\n\n\n

Gradual improvement for tomorrow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\nINDOMET predicts that the cold front<\/strong> will move away from the region this Monday, allowing the entry of a mass of air with less humidity<\/strong>, which will cause a significant reduction in rainfall<\/strong>. However, scattered showers<\/strong> are expected in the morning hours on the Atlantic coast and, in the afternoon, towards the Cibao Valley, the Central mountain range and the southwest.\n\n\n

On Tuesday<\/strong> a drier air mass<\/strong> will reduce both temperatures and rainfall; however, weak and isolated showers<\/strong> will persist in provinces of the north, northeast, Central Cibao and southwest, due to the dragging of clouds by the northeast wind<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable drop in temperatures<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\nTemperatures will remain pleasant to cool<\/strong>, especially at night and early morning, with a noticeable drop<\/strong> starting today. The minimums will range between 18 \u00b0C and 20 \u00b0C<\/strong>, and the maximums between 30 \u00b0C and 32 \u00b0C<\/strong>.\n\n\n

Maritime Recommendations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\nOn the Atlantic coast<\/strong>, small, fragile, and medium<\/strong> vessels are advised to navigate close to the coast and avoid going out to sea<\/strong> due to abnormal wind and waves. From midday<\/strong>, it is advised to remain in port<\/strong> from Bah\u00eda de Manzanillo (Montecristi) to Cabo Franc\u00e9s Viejo (Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez)<\/strong>.\n\nINDOMET urges the population to stay alert to official bulletins<\/strong> and take precautions against the risk of flooding and adverse maritime conditions.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
