The news quickly reaches <a href=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/destacadas\/santo-domingo\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/destacadas\/santo-domingo\/\">Santo Domingo<\/a>, where, with the utmost secrecy, the conspirators get in motion and agree to meet the night of the following day at 11 o'clock, at the Puerta de la Misericordia to, from there, launch themselves to occupy the bastion of El Conde, where Lieutenant Mart\u00edn Gir\u00f3n, conquered at the last minute, would wait for them with his men ready to face the possible reaction of the Haitians who had the Ozama fortress as their headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1845:<\/strong> Lawyers Juan Nepomuceno Tejera and F\u00e9lix Mar\u00eda Del Monte request President Pedro Santana to commute the death penalty to exile for Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez, Jos\u00e9 Carmen Figueroa, Nicol\u00e1s de Bari and Andr\u00e9s S\u00e1nchez. Santana denies the request and the condemned are executed the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1876:<\/strong> President Ignacio Mar\u00eda Gonz\u00e1lez resigns from office, pressured by the Council of State Secretaries and the political leadership of the Blue Party.
