The provincial governor, Mar\u00eda Minerva Navarro, participated in a technical meeting held at the Ruins of the Las Mercedes Church, in the municipal district of Pueblo Viejo, where the protocols for the proper handling of the bone remains found at the site were defined.<\/p>\n\n


During the meeting, it was established that specific samples will be sent to specialized laboratories abroad for analysis, while the rest of the skeletal remains will remain in the country under strict conditions of preservation, custody, and control, in accordance with current regulations on historical heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n

The archaeologist Kathleen Mart\u00ednez participated in the meeting, accompanied by part of her work team, as well as Olga Lidia de Macarrulla, the mayor of Pueblo Viejo and other personalities linked to the research project.<\/p>\n\n


Governor Navarro reiterated the provincial authorities' commitment to the development of scientific research and the protection of cultural heritage, highlighting the importance of ensuring a responsible, transparent, and respectful process, given the historical relevance of the finding for the province of Azua and for the national historical memory.<\/p>\n\n\n
