A total of 257 children under 18 participated, as well as 49 runners over 70, including an 89-year-old woman, the oldest participant in this edition. Also, 15 wheelchair athletes were part of the sports day.\n\nThe race also reflected a notable balanced participation between men and women, with 51% and 49% respectively, evidencing the growing interest of the Dominican population in joining initiatives that promote an active and healthy lifestyle.\n\nRegarding the age distribution, the largest group was the 18 to 29 year olds, with 1,959 registered (32%), followed by young adults aged 30 to 39, with 1,824 participants (30%).\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>You can also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/estilo\/medio-maraton-de-claro-record\/\">Claro Half Marathon breaks national record<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\nOmar Acosta, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Claro Dominicana, highlighted the impact that this sports platform has achieved over the years.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;With this emblematic event, which inspires and continues to position itself as a benchmark within the national sports calendar, we contribute to the development of sport in the Dominican Republic and to the promotion of values associated with well-being, discipline and family integration,&#8221; he expressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nAcosta pointed out that the sustained growth of the Claro Half Marathon reflects the company&#8217;s commitment to promoting sports and healthy entertainment.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Our goal is to offer a world-class experience, with high standards of organization and safety, that allows runners of different levels to enjoy a memorable day with their families,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe presence of runners from different nationalities \u2014 including Venezuelan, Colombian, Mexican, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Austrian \u2014, as well as athletes of American, Canadian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Kenyan nationalities \u2014 the latter a world reference in athletics \u2014, also demonstrates the international reach that the race has achieved, as well as the quality of its organization, the trust it generates in the community of runners from different origins.\n\n\n<p><strong>The winners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nDominicans <strong>Jilberto Santana <\/strong>and<strong> Soranyi Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> achieved first place overall in the 21KM distance.\n\nSantana won in the top men&#8217;s category with a time of 1:05:52, while in the women&#8217;s division Rodr\u00edguez finished with a time of 1:16:44\n\nSimilarly, Sahira Sahdal\u00e1, Promotions and Sponsorship Manager at Claro Dominicana, highlighted that this edition included RD$3 million in prizes, reaffirming the magnitude of the event and its impact within the sports community.\n\nHe also explained that the organization once again had the support of Emoci\u00f3n Deportiva, responsible for the layout and measurement of distances under international standards, with experience in marathons such as Telcel and races organized for global brands such as BBVA and Adidas.\n\nThe 10K and 21K routes are certified by World Athletics in coordination with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), which raises the technical level of the event and makes it an attractive competition for experienced runners.\n\nIn terms of logistics and security, the event had more than 400 security components, 11 ambulances, 10 hydration points along the route, as well as sports drink stations strategically distributed along the course and at the finish line.\n\nFor the convenience of runners and spectators, more than 2,000 free parking spaces were enabled at strategic points in the city.\n\nFurthermore, as part of its commitment to sustainability, Claro Dominicana incorporated responsible waste management actions during the event, promoting the collection of plastic bottles for recycling and their reincorporation into the circular economy through the NUVI PET Integrated Waste Management System, with the support of its collaborators from the Claro Volunteers Network. To this end, more than 70 containers and more than 15 supersacks were installed at the hydration points, thus reaffirming the company&#8217;s commitment to a more sustainable Dominican Republic.\n\nAs part of the innovations of this edition, Claro also enabled its own registration platform, designed to offer a more intuitive and efficient experience to participants.
