Caracas.-<\/strong> The Venezuelan opposition leader<\/strong> Mar\u00eda Corina Machado<\/strong> <\/a>will meet this Tuesday at the U.S. Department of State<\/strong> with the secretary of this institution, Marco Rubio<\/strong>, at 10:00 a.m. local time (14:00 GMT), informed the official spokesperson of the also Nobel Peace Prize winner 2025.<\/p>\n\n\nThrough X, Machado's team announced the meeting, although they did not offer details about the topics to be discussed or additional information in this regard.\n\nThe meeting takes place after the United States officially resumed operations of its Embassy in Caracas on Monday, after the Donald Trump Administration and the Government of the Venezuelan interim president, Delcy Rodr\u00edguez, re-established diplomatic relations between both countries, broken since 2019.\n\nLikewise, this occurs in a context where Machado has expressed her willingness to return to Venezuela, after she left the country last December to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway after spending a year in hiding to avoid being arrested by the Venezuelan authorities, who have accused her of violence and of calling for a military invasion.\n\nThe opponent will return to Venezuela \"in the coming days\", her party Vente Venezuela (VV) reiterated on Saturday, without specifying a return date for the leader.\n\n\n

Trump has currently ruled out Machado to lead the South American country and instead recognized Delcy Rodr\u00edguez.
