DR and France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1913.<\/strong>&nbsp;Following the resignation of Monsignor Adolfo Alejandro from the presidency, Senator Jos\u00e9 Bordas Vald\u00e9z assumes the presidency of the Republic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1936.<\/strong>&nbsp;The Dominican president, Rafael Trujillo, and the Haitian president, Stenio Vincent, sign the Dominican-Haitian Treaty to end the border dispute, with an error that subtracted more than a million tasks from the national territory, without being claimed by the dictator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1948.<\/strong>&nbsp;The first issue of the newspaper El Caribe comes to light, under the direction of Stanley Ross and with Walter Dosborne as deputy director, both Aires.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1865.<\/strong>&nbsp;Faced with the possibility that blacks would acquire the right to vote, actor John Wilkes Boeth shoots President Abraham Lincoln in the Fordees Theatre in the city of Washington.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1890.<\/strong>&nbsp;In Washington, D.C., the First International American Conference creates the International Union of American Countries, called OAS since 1948.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1912.<\/strong>&nbsp;The Titanic ship hits an iceberg and sinks 150 miles off the coast of Newfoundland. 1513 people die out of the 2224 who were on board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1931.<\/strong>&nbsp;The Second Spanish Republic is proclaimed, the King flees into exile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1939.<\/strong>&nbsp;President Roosevelt sends a letter to Hitler and Mussolini offering and asking for 10 years of peace in Europe and the Middle East.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1986.<\/strong>&nbsp;Simone de Beauvoir, French writer and intellectual, dies, who, through her life and works, played an important role in the development of the feminist movement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2002.<\/strong>&nbsp;The deposed Venezuelan president, Hugo Ch\u00e1vez, speaks in the early hours of the morning from the Miraflores Palace, headquarters of the Executive Branch, to announce his return to power, after 48 hours of the attempted coup d'\u00e9tat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2009.<\/strong>&nbsp;The Venezuelan and Colombian presidents.
