Caracas .- <\/strong>A total of 4,919 people have been arrested in Venezuela this year, reported the director of the Scientific, Criminal, and Criminalistic Investigations Corps (CICPC)<\/strong><\/a>, Douglas Rico, according to a note published this Tuesday by the Ministry of Interior, which does not specify the crimes of those arrested.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\nIn his Telegram channel, the State portfolio indicated that Rico also reported that in this 2026, 483 firearms and 2,385 ammunitions have been seized.\n\nHe also detailed that 1,128 vehicles and 1,227 mobile devices have been recovered.\n\nRico urged Venezuelans not to interfere in the \"legitimate police actions\" and demanded from the officials a \"dignified and professional treatment towards the population.\"\n\n\"We must ensure that the Police respect the people and that citizens trust their institutions, allowing the justice process to flow smoothly,\" underlined the police chief, quoted in the note.\n\n\n
