The movement was led by constitutionalist military personnel and civilians who rose up against the Triunvirate government, demanding respect for the Constitution.\n\nAmong the most emblematic figures of this feat stands out Colonel Francisco Alberto Caama\u00f1o De\u00f1\u00f3, who assumed the leadership of the constitutionalist side and was proclaimed president in the midst of the armed conflict.\n\nThe revolt led to a civil war that caused the military intervention of the United States, in the context of the Cold War, with the argument of avoiding the establishment of a communist government in the country.
