Washington.-<\/strong> The federal prosecutor in Washington shared this Thursday a video showing Cole Allen, the accused of attempting to assassinate the President of the United States, Donald Trump, during the White House Correspondents' Dinner last Saturday, shooting at a Secret Service agent before being arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\"Today, we are releasing the video already presented to the U.S. District Court showing Cole Allen shooting a U.S. Secret Service agent,\" said prosecutor Jeanine Pirro in a post accompanied by the images on her official X account.\n\nPyrrhus added that \"there is no evidence that the shooting was the result of friendly fire.\"\n\nThe images shared by the prosecutor also show Allen the day before the attack prowling the area where the dinner was held.\n\n\n

Who is Cole Allen?<\/h3>\n\n\nAllen, a 31-year-old professor from California, appeared this Thursday at a hearing of about 15 minutes in which he informed the District of Columbia judge Moxila Upadhyaya that he renounces challenging his stay in prison, a precautionary measure requested by the prosecution.\n\nThe defendant's lawyers asked the judge to modify Allen's prison conditions, who remains confined 24 hours a day in an isolation cell, a measure they consider disproportionate. The magistrate, however, responded that she lacks authority over this matter.\n\n\n

The Incident at the Dinner with Trump<\/h3>\n\n\nThe defendant attempted to break in armed to the Washington Hilton hotel ballroom in the capital, where a gala was being held with the presence of Trump, the first lady, Melania; the vice president, JD Vance; the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson; and several members of the Government.\n\nThere were also about 2,000 guests in the room, including journalists, diplomats and businessmen.\n\nAccording to the prosecution's account, Allen ran at high speed, bypassed the metal detector of a security checkpoint, headed towards the stairs leading to the ballroom, and fired a shotgun.\n\nSecret Service agents responded with five shots and Allen fell to the ground and was subdued, although he did not suffer any bullet impacts.\n\nThe incident left no victims, although the shots caused the evacuation of Trump and the rest of the authorities, as well as unleashing panic among some of the attendees.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
